Bitcoin Halving: The Aftermath

The latest Bitcoin halving happened on April 20, 2024. As for how it affected the BTC price… Well, to be honest, there was no big reaction: Bitcoin has fluctuated up and down as it usually does, but has mostly stayed within the same $62–66K range, only breaking through the $67K level a few times last week. However, there was a recorded surge in transaction fees following the event, showing that there was an increase in investor activity. Did you buy or sell Bitcoin last week?

Behind the Headlines

The Hedera roller coaster: The coin went up 96% following misinterpreted news earlier this week. Once the confusion was cleared up, HBAR went back down, but it still has been up 38% in the last seven days.
BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF IBIT recorded its first zero-inflow day on April 24, 2024. Other Bitcoin ETFs aren't doing much better: only ARKB and FBTC had positive inflows on that date, while Grayscale's fund continued to suffer losses.
Samourai Wallet's CEO and CTO are currently facing legal action from the U.S. Department of Justice. The crypto market had a brief dip following the news, but has mostly managed to recover soon after.
